No they were just a plastic panel sedan with a 4 banger engine, just like a Chevrolet cavalier, or a Pontiac sunbird nothing special about them. You can call Saturn a Roger Smith blunder one of the worst GM CEO’S GM ever had Saturn was one of GM divisions to go under because sales never took off as GM thought they would.
That's what I was thinking too. The Sky is a sexy little car! My wife is still driving her '97 SC2 that she bought new. It's only got 65K miles on it, but it sets outside year around these days and is looking pretty rough -- hail dings and fading paint. I wish it was a classic; we'd sell it!

How can it have hail damage when it’s suspose to be a plastic body that’s was Saturns selling point they had a commercial showing a shopping cart hitting a Saturn in a parking lot a did no damage to the Saturn.

Hoods and roof were steel on at least some models, I believe.

No, the main issue was the relative lack of continual investment in the Saturn brand from GM that would lead to faster refreshes and new updated platforms for vehicles that would increase sales.
I don't know if they will ever be collectible but I loved my Saturns. SL2 (2 of them) and then a 1997 SLW that I only sold a year ago. The side panels were great and I lived on a beach with all that salt air and no garage, and there was never a bit of rust at all! The only thing that went wrong with that last car, finally, was the a/c and we kept putting in new ones but they would never work.
The downside to a Saturn was the uncomfortable seats. That was all for me. And dh loved to work on it, said it was dead easy to work on.
