for a big guy, you might look at the intermediates, my favorites are the 66-71 fairlane/torino, the 66-67 pontiac lemans/gto, or the later full size 77-80 caprice classic. i also like the 64 on rancheros and 66 on el caminos, though if you can find a 57-59 ranchero or 59 el camino those would be great also. the tri five chevys, 55-57, 55-56 ford full size, and of course the mercury equivelants. the 75-80 nova clones also have a decent amount of room in them.

I had a 69 leMans when I was in high school. It was a beater, but still a great car for the time Neat looking too.

Poor man’s GTO. I had a 68 Tempest!

Friend of mine swapped out the six for a 389 and slapped some GTO stickers on it. There was not much difference at all. Kind of like the Dodge Coronet vs Super Bee - which I had.

This is not uncommon at all and no big deal so long as you don't try to pass it off as "real".
I see these things on Mecum all the time.

I don't really blame them and it is harmless enough. My Super Bee had real hood scoops, giant air filter, decals and pins plus a 160 mph speedometer as I recall. That was the only difference between the Super Bee and the grocery hauling Coronet. Pretty common Detroit marketing practice to appeal to the "young at heart".

Now Super Bees are worth multiples more than Coronets of course.
