Whats your fave, and why? Please keep it as civil as possible, I know this one will get ugly.
Im going with Ford on this one for many reasons. I like their styling more, I like the fact that they participate in open wheel racing and WRC, and my fave cars are Fords (ie 32's, old T-birds, 23 As, etc).
Anyway, Chevy also participates in open-wheel racing (CART) and GM had its hand in WRC until it sold its stake in Subaru. For now they just don't have a car in their own lineup suitable for WRC racing except MAYBE the Saturn/Opel/Vauxhall Astra. And to do so they'd have to re-engineer the Astra chassis to accommodate AWD. That's a pretty expensive proposition just to field a car in the WRC series. If they ever did get into WRC it would probably be via the Opel brand since that's GM's leading brand in Europe. Chevy is almost unknown over there; I think the only GM car sold in Europe as a Chevy is the Corvette.
Well, you're never going to see Chevy in WRC because brand is a non-entity in Europe. If you ever saw a Chevy in WRC, it would probably be wearing an Opel badge and its European street version would be sold as an Opel and/or Vauxhall.
I like both, each has it's positive and negative points. I prefer the styling of Ford's cars and trucks but I also like the '07 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and Silverado. If you would've asked me this question say 2 years ago, I would wholeheartedly go with Ford but Chevy is definetly catching up.
as someone who works on cars- chev
Ford always has to do things different or backwards
mechanics hate working on them
