I can remember a time in the city when the only thing that separated the police from the hoods was the uniform. I guess it hasn't changed much, although I know it has.

Chasing around guys like Freddie Gray make little sense. You need to go after violent offenders. Stop wasting time on petty crime, police it, but don't take it to some ridiculous level, while you have an armed robber around the corner.

The last Bluebloods episode outlined the reasons for harsher treatment of those who attack or kill police officers quite well.

This is a nation of laws, and if you permit those who enforce those laws to be attacked or killed in the performance of their duties, the result is anarchy. Every man for himself. Those were not the exact words, but close.

Harsher punishment for cases like you stated are needed so that criminals will think twice before taking on our policemen. Who would ever want to become a cop, if it weren't that way?

The democrat party has demonized the police in Baltimore and elsewhere. If you look at democrat cities like Baltimore, they always pushing a false narrative that police are the problem. But in fact it's the increasing number of criminals that are causing crime.
