Hi,
We are relocating to the Bangor area from TN. My daughter is 4, and I'm having trouble finding info on which elementary school district in the Bangor area (we are looking at houses in Bangor, Orono, Brewer and Veazie) would be the best for her to attend. I'm also looking for preschool recommendations. Here, most preschools are run by churches, but most the ones I'm finding online are run by day care centers. Is this the typical place to go to preschool? Any help on schools or the area in general would be so appreciated!

Your child would be attending the elementary school that is assigned to the neighborhood you will be living in unless you elect to send her to a private school. All preschool here is private with public school starting at kindergarten.

Welcome.

Here is a link to the Bangor School System:

Orono, Veazie and Glenburn are currently RSU 26:

RSU Info

Be advised however, that Veazie and Glenburn are in the process of attempting to dissolve the RSU. It's anyone's guess whether this will occur. It will be a while yet before the process brings a vote to the towns.

I know that RSU 26 and Brewer both offer preschool at the schools, but I'm not sure about Bangor. I would think they do.

Good luck.

Does Bangor have some elementaries that are considered more desirable than others? I know the other areas just have one elementary (or k-8) per town.
