There is a place in Bangor called Ichiban, which seems to have decent reviews. You can have periodic trips to Bangor to get your ethnic cuisine fix!

I've also seen that there is a Pakistani restaurant in Bangor, & an Indian place.

I'm trying to learn to cook some of the different styles of food I enjoy... while I still have the original to compare. It's fun, & a lot of ethnic food is cheaper & easier to make than I realized.

Our favorite was China Wall near Day's Jewelers in Bangor, but it is closing. The food was very good but the location was bad, no-one could find it. However, the same people own these three restaurants, and we want to check them out:
House of Hunan, Wilson St, Brewer
China Garden, University Mall, Orono
Chopstix, Center St., Bangor
The China Buffet in Bangor near the movie theaters is ok.

How about good sushi? I can make my own, but we love to go out and have a romantic dinner, share sushi and warm sake.........I would imagine we could get some incredibly fresh sushi there somewhere!

I'm pretty sure Ichiban has sushi, from reading the reviews.

One time visit is hard to say is always good.
I used to take my son there a lot when he was younger because he loved it (and because under 7 eat free!). It was always packed with business people for the lunch hour. And then.... the last few times I have gone there, the place has been pretty empty during lunch and I think I know why- the quality of food has gone downhill, at least from what I saw and tasted...

I still miss Sing's.

I'm glad to hear there are Japanese restaurants in Bangor. We just discovered Sakura on western Ave in Augusta, and that is very good. Surprising also, our Hannaford's in Belfast has a good sushi bar.

Hannaford's is awesome! We thought we would miss HEB when we first moved here from Texas, but we don't. Hannaford's has a great selection.

I love being able to pick up vodka to go with the orange juice! One-stop shopping!
