Honest to God true story - less than an hour ago (probably around 10:20 PM ET on Tuesday 10/5) I checked ticket availability for the Rays-Rangers ALDS Game 1 on Wednesday. On the Rays' website (i.e. the Tampa Bay Rays section of the MLB.com website), I could have bought FOUR tickets together in Section 303 (3rd base side of home plate) in Upper Reserved for $30 each excluding service charges (the cheapest tickets available are $30). Unbelievable.
That's pathetic. You can only get tickets on StubHub now for the Phillies-Red series, and even standing room tickets are going for over $100 in Philly. The games in Cincinnati are sold out too, and the Reds haven't had great attendance all season.

I would hate to live in a city where the public can't even afford to fill a baseball stadium. I feel sorry for the players.
This even makes it worse....I checked StubHub, and there's upper deck seats available for $16!!! The face value of the seats is $30. Pretty sad when tickets are being sold for half of face value for a PLAYOFF GAME!!!!

The Rays are playing now and the stadium is full of empty seats and very few have Rays clothing on.

They don't deserve that team. They could move them to Little Rock, Arkansas and they'd probably draw better. The Phils draw more people for spring training games.

Well I do agree that it's pretty lame that Tampa fans won't drive to Texas to see their team play, I can't blame the Ranger fans for not wearing their opponents gear.

You really think that would make people in Tampa go to the games? I doubt it. From what people have told me it is the economy of Tampa that can not sustain it.
I would go to more game if they were in Tampa. Economies get better in time by the way

I would hate to live in a city that riots when their team wins a Championship, and throws snow balls at opposing players, fans, and even Santa Clause. Just awful horrible fans in Philly.
