Eleven days into the season and 2014 has yet to see a single complete game pitched. Mark Buehrle of the Blue Jays went 8 and two thirds in his first start, Felix Hernandez went eight and a third and seven others have completed 8 innings.

Talking about bad luck for the Angels. Batting coach Don Baylor fractures his leg during the home opener pregame ceremony while catching the first pitch. Josh Hamilton injures his thumb while sliding to first head first trying to beat out a grounder. He'll be out from 6 to 8 weeks. Angels are cursed. SMH.

This is the second straight year the Nationals are playing the Braves with the Nats holding a 7-2 record on the year. Last year the Nats had a 0 run differential heading into that series, this year the Nats run differential is +22. Last year the Braves were 8-1 with a +26 run differential heading in, this year they sit at 5-4 with a +1 run differential.

At the end of today's play, only three teams in the AL are above the .500 mark.

The Giants beat Colorado 6-5 tonight and five of the six SF runs were driven in by starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner who did it with only one at bat in the game.

In the third he just missed a home run and instead settled for a sac fly. In the 4th he stepped up with the bases loaded and smacked the first pitch several rows deep in left center, no cheapie at all.

The Giants scored five runs in that inning with just two hits. There was a single and Bumgarner's slam, in between it was walk, hbp, walk.

Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner recorded 5 of the Giants 6 RBI's on the evening. He tied the game at 1 on a sac fly and blew the game open with a grand slam in his next at bat. He had more RBI's in 2 plate appearances (5) than Hunter Pence (3), Pablo Sandoval (4), Miguel Montero (4), Yasiel Puig (4), Bryce Harper (4), Dan uggla (3), Evasn Gattis (2), BJ Upton (0), Chris Johnson (3), Jacoby Ellsbury (3), Brian McCann (3), Carlos Beltran (4), Adam Jones (4) and Edwin Encarnacion (0) do all season.

Impressive so far. If Brewers win tonight, sunday's game will almost feel like a "must win" for Bucs. They can't go back to the 0-for-Miller Park days.

Bih question is if Milw csn stay healthy. Doesn't appear to be much depth.

What is everyone's take on the Curtis Granderson "fan-touching his back" incident last night in Anaheim? I can only think of a few ballparks where the wall is low enough in the corner for that to happen there. Unfortunately, I see fans being moved further from the players because of things like that. I have season tickets behind 1st base and as I was leaving an A's game last week slightly early, I sat in the first row right in that same spot since it was completely open and I wanted to sit in peace as a few loud-mouths were behind me in my seats. The usher came over and told me and another season ticket holder behind me who had seats behind home plate that we had to move. I'm not entirely sure what's so special about those seats but apparently voluntarily choosing to downgrade your seats is just as bad as trying to get nicer ones. =P
