Several other teams have an "official" thread on this forum, but I couldn't find one for the Nats. There are are several threads discussing specific things related to the Nats, but not one general thread for Nationals supporters to discuss the team. So let's make one right here!
The Nats have had a great 2012 season so far. They have secured their first winning season, their first playoff berth, and are now trying to wrap up their first NL East Championship. They have a good core of young players who should be around for years to come, so I think they will be competitive for the next several seasons.
Please post here if you support the Nats and/or just have thoughts on the team!
Nats 3B coach Bo Porter just named manager of the Houston Astros. Good for him! Good luck Bo! Glad he's going to an AL team, we don't have to face him every year...unless it's the World Series of course
Yeah, Werth's at-bat last night was so clutch. The Nationals' once commanding lead cut down to one run, two outs, the entire stadium booing him, the pitcher throwing a high and tight ball at him, and Werth knocks in a pair of runs. Might be my second favorite Nats play of the year after Bryce stealing home on Cole Hamels after Hamels plunked him.
The Nats have a good thing going, so I hate to see Bo Porter leave, especially since from what I have read he would have been considered as a replacement for Davey when Davey hangs up the spikes. That being said, great opportunity for Bo and I hope he finds much success.
