OK, so here's a roundup of everyone's NLDS predictions:
3 out of 4, with one series called to the exact number of games...
0 for 2.
2 for 4 with one series called to the exact number of games.
Not bad! 3 for 4, with all 3 correct predictions called to the exact number of games.
1 for 4.
3 for 4 with two series called to the exact number of games.
So we had three people call 3 out of the 4 series: case44, aardvarks and myself. Case44 predicted the number of games correctly in one series, I predicted the number of games correctly in two series, and the ultimate winner, aadrvarks, predicted the number of games correctly in all three series he predicted correctly. So the cookie goes to aardvarks!
Drover I just read this, thank you. Can I have a peanut butter cookie please.
As well as Wakefield has pitched in the dome, I wonder if he'll get a start, maybe not until games 6 or 7 if needed. Or perhaps Francona will use him out of the pen.
Francona is still undecided on his starter for Game 1 but it will likely be Beckett or Dice-K. Lester will go game 2. Wakefield will go game 4 in Fenway which allows Cash to start to give 'Tek a rest. I think the Sox are concerned with Beckett's health and may keep him until Monday afternoon's start in Fenway.
There is no way Wakefield pitches in games 1 or 2 and they will want Lester and Beckett (if healthy) in games 6 and 7.

Earlier Picks
In case you want to be reminded of my preseason 2008 predictions and how they compare to right now, here's the link. It's halfway down the page on post 43. Even I amaze myself sometimes, even though the playoffs are not over yet. MLB predictions
Yes, I know. I turned around and picked the Phillies for the NLCS. Let's just see how they finish, and I believe the pick there was difficult. Don't be surprised if the Dodgers pull it out and prove my preseason picks right, especially if the Red Sox go on to beat the Rays.
And now the Rays are making a series of it, up 2-1.
trying to stay calm about it all...
