If I were the king of baseball I would move the two Florida clubs to Portland and Salt Lake. This would be a true expansion because neither franchise would infringe on anyone's fan base. MLB will never be successful in Florida. There are gobs of fans in Florida but most of those who can afford season tickets root for the Chicago and New York teams. Before expanding to 32 clubs, let's put the existing 30 clubs on a sound financial footing.

Adding two teams in Canada wouldn't hurt the league too much.

Why do something that would hurt the league even just a little?

Before expansion, I'd move Tampa Bay to North Carolina, and the A's to Sacramento.

If we go by that, I would say this. Move the Nationals BACK to Montreal, and move the Marlins to DC.

Please !!!!!!! No more threads about expansion!!!!! How much more do you want the talent to be watered down. Someone like Steve Trachsel had no business being in this league. Look at all the scrub middle relievers that enter a game and can't get 1 out !!!...

If anything, take the 2 Florida teams and contract them..along with 2 other teams and go down to 28

Well that would leave you with 26 teams and an unbalanced schedule again...

If anything, I'd see the A's moving to San Jose, where they've BEEN rumored to go to. Just depends on what happens with them (and the Raiders) and their stadium.

Oh, and to the guy above... enough of the "watered down talent" argument. There are PLENTY enough good players for to add two more clubs.

I understand this is a "what if" thread but I really hope this is something that they don't do.
Don't think this is really an issue, if, even though it may turn a few off from a PR standpoint, the team would just stock up on Dominican and Japanese players.
