You may need to worry about the Giants in the NLDS, so I wouldn't get too cocky.

Halliday, Hamels, and Oswalt will take care of that! No worries

While the Phillies staff is truly daunting, let's not forget that the last time the Reds faced Halliday, Reds pitcher Travis Wood had a perfect game going through the ninth inning (Halliday had a shutout too). Point is, I think the rumors of the Reds demise are a little premature. Reds have good pitching too and if the Reds can get to the Phils' pitchers early, it's anybody's series.

I worry more about Oswalt. That guy has dominated the Reds for years. I don't think he's ever lost to the Reds.

Phillies starters (Halliday, Hamels, Oswalt) are 34 and 4 lifetime against the Reds. The reds are a young and exciting team (remind me of the 2007 Phils in some ways) but a year or so away. I am excited for the series and on paper the Phils should win, but that is why they play the games. BTW the Reds selected cueto over Wood for game three, or at least as it stands now - will be interesting, I think the Reds should hope for bad weather, maybe a delay knocking Halliday after 3 or 4 - there is rain forecasted for tomorrow, maybe not enough to cause a delay but maybe so. Would hate to have weather play a factor. Can't wait for 5 tomorrow!

I think the Phils will sweep...worst case scenario, Phils in 4. The Reds have a promising future, but this won't be their year....they are at where the Phils were at in 2007, just happy to be there. I can't see them losing this series with the 3-headed monster rotation.

On a side note, Rolen should get a nice warm reception!

Don't get me wrong...I imagine the prognosticators are right about the Reds' chances...but I've read some stuff online that makes it sound like the Phillies are ready to host the World Series already. All I'm saying is if the Reds' bats warm up (they've been in a funk lately) then it could be a very competitive series.

That's why they play the games...anything can happen. In 08 when the Phils won, the Cubs were the almost unanimous pick to win the NL, they won over 100 games....and were swept by the Dodgers.

I feel more threatened by the Reds closers than anything. I just keep thinking back to the series earlier this year. Mike Leake went 8 innings strong, I believe Cordero came in and blew the lead if I remember correctly. This eventually led to a sweep
