2 91 MPH change ups. With 8+ inches of break
7 82/83 MPH curves with 7+ inches of horizonal and vertical break.

This kid is electric. Maybe the most fun a fan could have watching anyone so far this season.

A bit too much hype in the telecast, discussing him with Walter Johnson.

Lots of great pitchers have come up over the past couple of decades, and he certainly has the potential to be near the top. But they are discussing him as though he is playing a different game.

He has a lot of ability, but they should keep it real. They are calling it like the World Series when he is on the mound.

"When your fastball is as hard, or harder, than lots of guys' fastball, you're still supplying a lot of power to the opposing hitters"-Nats announcers

You're right about that. They really didn't need to reference Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson when Andy Lorouche got a hit. That was kind of over the top, as was the comment that Strasburg can be more than just a Hall of Famer...

But I won't let that interfere with my enjoyment here. The kid is fun to watch. He's not responsible for what one over-zealous guy says in the booth.

And Jim Kaat is there, doing a fine job, which is always good.

Ageed, it is fun to watch new high ceiling talent, especially with the sound off the TV

He's a good pitcher and all but the hype is intolerable. Listening to Keith Law, you'd think the kid was already enshrined in the hall and they were renaming the Cy Young after him.

Nice to see people here in DC excited about baseball again. It's been a lean few years here sports wise aside from the Capitals.

Keep in mind, he is facing the Pirates (who, BTW, are leading 2-1).

Pirates average 3.28 runs per game, just barely ahead of the woeful Astros in scoring. Next lowest team in average runs scored are the Cubs and Giants, at 4.21 runs per game. Just trying to keep some perspective here, the telecast was pretty odd.

Well it's also not an accident that he's facing the Pirates. But the kid has been good. He made a mistake and he paid for it. Honestly, he's going to lose a lot of tough luck games in that uniform. Some days they will score for him and he will win. Other days, he's gonna lose 2-1 or 3-2.

For a Major League debut, it's hard to find anything bad to say about him.
