Bunch of freakin' Becky's.

(Beckys is a term for yuppie gals at Cub games with their iphone in their face the whole time and that think ballfour is one of the players last names.)
I won't say insurmountable but with 28 seconds left and a 5 point lead, the team with the lead has won 99% of the time.

Why shame on Miami? They know the policy of non-rentry! It's human nature for them to think the game was over with the Spurs in the lead and very few seconds left. Also a lot of fans do leave early for many games to avoid the traffic since the arena is in the heart of downtown.

In the Finals? Well, they did get that jump on traffic they were hoping for.

Everyone is LOLing at Miami over this but come on, this can and does happen in just about every other NBA arena.

Here is the Miami Sports fan thing again. The Heat have plenty of good fans. Miami is so different than other cities because it is such a transplant city and so many people here were born in other countries or states and they are still loyal to their teams from NY or Boston and Chicago. The teams down here are young besides for the Dolphins and it takes time to build tradition which the Heat are certainly doing now. But at the same time in cities like Chicago and Boston people show up pretty well even when the team sucks. Honestly that is pretty dumb if you ask me unless you are a die hard fan of that sport, (not just the team). Why spend your money on a poor product and waste your energy worrying about a poor product. That is like going to the movies paying $12 to see a movie you already know 100% is bad. But I love basketball in general. I would rather watch the Bobcats play the Kings than watch a great MLB game. So I do always got o the Heat games. But when the Dolphins and Marlins suck I almost never go. That is the type of city Miami is. Each sport has their own group of dedicated fans and the rest save their time, money and energy for when the teams are good.

Miami is a fair weather sports town. If the team is not winning people don't want to spend their money which IMO makes perfect sense. Besides for the Heat. (I am a HUGE Heat fan, been going to games since I was 7 years old in the 90s) I usually don't go to those teams either, unless they are playing well. Why waste my money to watch a poor product.

But it is not as bad as most people think especially the Dolphins and Heat. The Dolphins have a fairly dedicated fan base and attendance has been poor only the past 2-3 years. You will see Dolphins fans all over the country. It is a historical franchise and even if they are somewhat competing there is good support for them. The problem is the past decade has been a failure for the Dolphins. I remember going to games in the late 90s and even early 2000s. Every game was sold out, loud as can be. Those were fun games. Hopefully they made the right improvements to bring that back.

As for the Heat, they have never had attendance problems even in the bad years in the early 2000s. Really there have not been many poor performing years for the Heat. It is a fantastic organization and the fans get a bad rap because A. There are a lot of Heat fans outside of Miami who are not real fans and B. When its popular to go to things in Miami they become expensive, so on TV you don't see a lot of the real fans.

But for the Heat, the Heat have been good for a while now since the 96-97 season with only a few off seasons here and there and they have never had huge attendance problems. People just love to hate on Miami.

This happens in those "great" sports towns too. Fans, please remain seated until history is made - Raw Charge

People just love to hate Miami. Why? I don't know.

We are making fun of the FAKE Miami fans that have the coin to be able to attend a game 6 Finals and walked out early.

I even pointed out that it's unfortunate that many of the REAL Miami fans couldn't afford the tix or have the connections etc. or in tough economic times have to sell of their playoff tix to be able to keep thier season tix.

ANY major metro has this issue when their team gets hot so we aren't picking on the core fans but rather the inevitable rush of bandwagon idiots etc.

In fact, some of the hardcore Laker fans that post here often would join in making fun of the posers when we were saying the same things about them.

We are the forum regulars, we absolutely notice when the playoffs come around and a bunch of unfamiliar posters start talking smack. Happens every single year.

If my Bulls ever get healthy and make the finals again....trust me, we will get a flood of Bulls posers at the games and everywhere else.

crazy how all these "hardcore" Heat fans have been coming out of nowhere the last few years LOL
I remember 5-6 years ago Miami didn't have these ''fans''. They had a few followers wherever they played, and the home court support was OK.

But since Mr James arrived alot has changed.

I agree with that 100% but from my friends that live outside of Miami and from the national media Miami fans get a bad rap when plenty of other cities have the same exact problems.
