It was a royal pain when we needed our backhoe repaired or maintained. That might be a good "mobile mechanic" business, but you'd have to be able to show your qualifications before most people would let an unknown newcomer work on their expensive equipment.

Yes motorcycles, scooters and quads and i'm good at making things go fast too :-) those scooter kids would love me, we watched them do wheelies up alii in front of Bongo Bens, they should where helmets.

I'm not trying to be cocky or anything but I have 28 years in the heavy equipment field I do good work, I'm honest and I love helping people and have alot of great references, I think I'd do good once people got to know me a little.

If you don't need a full income right away, and have time to develop a client base, there are certainly many car, bike, and heavy equipment repair needs. Good luck.

Hint: Bring the parts with you for the loader, getting them locally is expensive.

If I was to show up in a torn-up rental car, could you do a quick patch-job? (Good info to have on-hand.)

Just kidding! Or am I?
Aloha

I've always thought the BI needed someone with cheap rental cars, like a fleet of beaters with the owner on call to come pick you up if it breaks down and have another one to replace it while they fix yours. I have no idea how the logistics of that would work but I know there is a shortage of affordable options here.

No one wants to rent from a fleet of beaters if the owner has to come and fix the beater and pad the bill for his forseen rescues of beaters. There is more satisfaction for all if you pay a steep price for a new rental vehicle and buy rental insurance to protect all. Nada Kine, you dont have to be rescued unless you the renter likes to do sissortails on the pali.
