I know a couple in the high 30's/hr but they've been around a long time. All depends on hospital and whether their Union or not. Keep in mind most nurses aren't employee's of the hospital and many are 1099. So that high # isn't what it appears. Still very good money no matter how you look at it.

There are currently 237 nursing jobs available in the state of Massachusetts today.

The high is $34 for ICU in Boston/nightshift

The low is $25 med-surg

Well add a couple of OT shifts and a weekend and that hourly rate jumps. Nurses making $80K+ a year isn't uncommon.

My G/F is a teacher in the area. You'd be surprised what some teachers make. I know I was when she told me.

and that's not good for an 180d a year job? The fallacy that teachers are underpaid is tired......

Especially considering the benefits and ironclad union that protects you. its basically a tenured position.

Well BPS pays well. I dont think all schools do. Many teachers only make 50k something especially when starting out. Obviously what BPS is doing isnt working. They have very well paid teachers and the schools stink.
