Have a Flowers bread and cake route that I would like to sell. I have 2 years invested in it and want at least my money back, up front. After that, you would fill out the paperwork and continue the payments through Flowers. I have over $20,000 equity in the route right now.
Hi, I am wondering what the margins are on your route? In other words, what is the typical per product commission %?
Thanks,
Mary Hall
Does anybody Know of any changes in the Bread Distribution business in Wisconsin, Brownberry in particular. Everyone in our area is selling their routes. Something going on that everyone is getting out, not a good buy? I understand it is a lot of work, I have done delivery before, just wondering if something is going on not to sink all I have into buying a route?
Bimbo is now downgrading ALL new owners to 18%. Their reason, as told to me is that we made money all those years, now it's their turn. HORRIBLE! As a result, all older routes are now devalued. Before buying a route do your DUE Diligence!
Anyone here own a non bread route? Snyders of Hanover or Pepperidge Farm cookie route etc.... I'm looking at a PF cookie route and curious what the word is on them. I used to have a bread route and burned out quickly because of all the stale and you pretty much have to be in every store 7 days a week. Talk about turning into a zombie. How are snack routes?
I'm buying a bread route I will be using a 24ft trailer, I was wondering if anybody knows with the trailer full how much weight will I be towing? Should I go with gas or diesel? Route is 180 miles a day 4 days a week.
Owning a bread route is a tough business. Even if you have a good route make a good paycheck after expenses, yes business expenses are big time, you pretty much are working 24/7. 5 days a week you will be waking up at 2am and finishing around noon. Then you have your "off days" which require you to go to most of your stores and put up product you left in the backroom of the store. I did this for three years and was so burnt out I was begging someone to buy it from me. And I was single!!! I can't imagine a family man doing this.
On paper it's a good job, but once you factor in business expenses and time it's a nightmare!
