This same game is being played out all over the country with thrift and consignment shops instead of storage units. Buy low, sell high. Silly game

Not even reality. There is no such thing as a clean unit when it comes to auction. Could be neatly stacked but even that doesn't happen too often. We just held an auction 2 weeks ago for 7 units, all 8x10. Average sale price was about $75 per unit from 8 attendees, and some of those followed the auctioneer from sales earlier in the day.
I will say one guy did pretty good on one of his units. It had a big Kobalt tool chest stuffed full. Most of the contents in the units were bagged clothing and junk.
I know a guy that is a manager of a storage place and this has been his experience as well!

Unless I was moving short term (like waiting for a place to be built) I would NEVER rent a storage unit....the cost usually exceeds the value of the stuff in just a few months. THROW THE JUNK AWAY!

I was in Vegas a few years ago and went to a gun range near the Pawn Stars place so naturally I had to see the place......It was TINY, they must have used fish eye lenses to make the place look bigger on TV. I have probably been to 3 pawn shops in my entire life so not an expert on pawn shops (looking for an expensive bike I had stolen from me) and this one in Vegas didn't have anything remotely as cool as what they show on tv.
