- Can I live in "Cali" for under $50K
- I need a home with about an acre and views of the ocean for under $3000,000
- Why do folks in "Cali" think they are all that when everybody out there is just "posers" while here in (enter Midwest City) you can buy a home for less than $$$$$$

But man, we are kinda snarky and snooty.
If i wanted to move to a state that i'm clueless about (like, oh say, Mississippi) i'd be asking some really stupid questions too.
And it's just my sense but i bet the people from Mississippi wouldn't be ripping into me and feeling superior because of my cluelessness.
Not to be a party pooper or anything but just sayin.
This thread kinda makes a case for those who think Californian's tend to be self satisfied a** holes.
...and your point being, what?

Poster: Which high school in the OC has the best girls gymnastics program? That's where we want to buy a house so our precious snowflake Suzy can continue to compete.
Helpful CD Local: Unfortunately I don't think any OC high schools are part of the NHSGA. You'll need to look for a club program.
Poster: Don't you have to pay a lot of money for that? We have HS gymnastics for free here in small state USA. I don't understand why you don't have the same programs in CA. That is so stupid!
Helpful CD Local: Look at the bright side, there are lots of good club programs, hopefully you'll be able to find one convenient to your job, that's a huge plus here.
Poster: We don't have jobs yet, we can buy anywhere.

Variation: Our son Johnny is a 3rd string player on his jr. high team here in small town USA. But he has a terrible coach who doesn't know anything. He's so talented we're sure things will be better in the OC. We're looking for the high school that will have the best basketball team about 4 years from now.

A few months back I remember watching CNBC. American Greed ... The ENRON collapse. ENRON's employees would flip a switch in Manhattan, and all of San Francisco went black. No electricity for 2, even 3 hours. All the while ENRON's stock catapulted up. I have to admit, that was entertaining. Posers love California ... People can be who they want. I know a mature man who rents a white old school Ferrari Testarossa, drives around all day in Beverly Hills, showing off and scheming mature widowed wealthy ladies. Then late at night he lives in a run down, smelly warehouse in El Segundo. And by day, he's Cary Grant.

For many years California represented the new world. A new start. To begin again. Go west young man, go west.
