Here's one you would never hear in CA: "Libs go crazy over open carry night"

So we can post anything that we come across and just mention CA in order to post it here?
You do all the time.

Holy crap! There's a lot of "uptalk" and "creaky voice" in that video!!!

Just wondering, if one were to attend Princeton, would it be okay to bag a husband who went to Stanford? Yale? Harvard? Brown? MIT? .....

I know the vast majority of east coasters are open-minded, but know: I would take worst Hollywood rich, most dim-witted douchebags or the most ultra liberal, LSD taking Marxists of Berkeley before her. It reminds me of why the east coast is not on the top of my list of regions to live in.

And this is coming from someone is in education/academia.

Actually the video reference is correct. Those ladies are surrounded by guys who will be successful, hard working and intelligent guys who have great futures. The mom was correct to encourage daughters to snare some poor fellow into her grasp whilst at Princeton.

There are a lot of people who go to ivy league schools simply because they are rich but screw off and goof off. Ivy league connections? What about our former president G.W. Bush. He went to Yale, but didn't make him speak intelligently. Conversely there are many who go to state universities that are successful, hard working, and intelligent.

Not simply because they are rich, but who knows what happens there, but the general students at elite schools are the smartest high achievers in the nation. Others sometimes become them while in college, but up until that point those are the chosen ones. You just used the example (W), even if you hate him, that made a lot of money in oil, ran the Texas Rangers, was a two term governor and two term president. The video doesnt mean there arent smart hard working people everywhere, but in general those who get into the top schools are the brightest and her advice is what most mothers would say to their daughters. Everyone will marry who they choose anyway, this is a non issue.

Oh yes you do. You just need to run around in the right circles.

It actually starts happening in High School. Common at Nationally ranked public and Private college prep schools like my last two kids attend.

This could easily have taken place in CA (Stanford or USC come to mind.) Also, not something I would have done but what's so vapid about finding a mate during college?

I spent 3+ years working in the financial services industry in NYC where I was in constant daily contact with almost nothing but Ivy League graduates and what I took from the experience is that a vast majority of Ivy League graduates are absolutely no smarter than the general degree-holding public. In most cases they were quite less useful because they had been handed everything their entire lives and never had to make real decisions or solve a single real problem to get what they wanted. Frankly, as a former hiring owner of a medium sized company, I'd avoid Ivy Leaguers at this point as employees. I think the myth that they are the nation's "best and brightest" is about 40 years (if not more) outdated.

^^^This.

They have ties. That's about all you can say for sure.

Otherwise, the truly intelligent and hardworking at these places are all too often vastly overshadowed by the highbrow elite brats who got in through alumni favors, and skated by in honors and AP classes in HS, especially in private schools, that served up A's on silver platters just for showing up. Most of the evidence is from the mouths of those who benefited from such - they have a good laugh about it, but sure aren't gonna pass up the very lucrative benefits. If one would like to characterize these cherubs as the "best and brightest," one would also have to acknowledge that at least as many were "lucky."
