CA is a nanny state?

Survey: New York, California last in personal freedoms | Fox News

I'd say yes. Look how high we rank on welfare spending per capita:

The Audacious Epigone: Per capita federal welfare expenditures by state

And then there is the constant meddling in our lives by politicians.

Big deal. The difference between the least nanny state and the most nanny state is in the noise compared to the other differences between those states (quality of life, climate, diversity, jobs, housing, etc)

CA is a nanny state?

Then by all means, ''self-deport'' (aka, ''flee'') to wherever suits you better.

There, fixed it for 'ya!

I seem to be taking note of some pretty strange nanny type laws over in Free Chat across the various states.

Eh, I figure.. you can either live in a blue nanny state or a red police state.. personally, I think a nanny will take better care of you than the police.

You don't get it do you. The freer states, are not the police states. The red nanny states are. Living in a nanny state, you get BOTH.

What constant meddling?

I went fishing today off one of the many public piers without a license. Try doing that in say conservative Alaska without a fishing license. What about conservative dry counties in Texas where you can't buy a 6-pack of beer?

I'm not saying California doesn't have its issues, but this isn't a red or blue thing.
