Yes, unmeaningful, no future, unskilled jobs that ***anyone*** can do.

You think poaching a bunch of administrative Toyota jobs is more meaningful than engineering positions at Tesla?

Texas is a science and technology lightweight compared to California.

Texas doesnt have the know how to build businesses outside of traditional brick and mortar establishments, which is nothing to sneeze at, and is very lucrative, sure why not.

But as far as driving the future through innovation, Texas isnt even in the passenger seat, it's in the trunk.

Austin's tech scene is the most exaggerated in the US as far as importance.

You are missing my question. Don't tell me what companies who reside in Cali are doing to innovate. Tell me what california is doing, what is the state doing specifically to cultivate innovation?

California has always been an innovator. From the shows you watch on television to the keyboard you're currently typing on, to the cell phone you use, to the way you receive notifications via e-mail, to your ability to buy things while sitting in your home on a computer, to environmentally-sound automobiles -- all of these things! every single one! -- was an idea that came out of California!

This very site, City-Data, is based in California. I know it must really burn you to have to look all around you and admit what I'm saying is true.

Your own governor, Rick Perry, wants to move to San Diego when he's done being your governor. I guess you don't see the irony there, either.

So the state of california created my keyboard? Electric cars? Cellphones? Again what has the state done to cultivate innovation?

There are innovators and there are imitators. The State of California and the United States of America have seen it fit and proper for our nation's innovations be incubated in this great state.

Uhh. You're not getting rid of riff raf when jobs move. You're only getting rid of the middle class and increasing the lower class.

Also it should be noted that Texas doesn't just offer lower taxes. it literally takes money from the citizens and gives it to select companies/campaign donors in the form of corporate welfare.

Texas is all about doing things cheaper so they are the ones who undercut people up north and in California who were used to a higher quality of life.

Could you please describe in detail this stealing of money from citizens and corporate welfare? I'd like to know specifically what you are talking about

My user name is not a reference to myself rather my expectations of other people due to the fact that most people fall woefully short of my expectations

Dont be stuck on stupid. The same can be asked of Texas. What specifically is that state doing to create innovation?

But let's look at schools. At least as they were before the liberal left took them over. Steve Jobs attended public schools. Steve Wozniak was an attendee at UC Berkeley. The beginnings of what became Silicon Valley enjoyed the benefit of a well educated populace for their employees. Stanford University, although not public, was founded by former Governor Leland Stanford. Let's see - Hewlette Packard, Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Google, and I've probably missed a few.

How about Texas? Maybe once upon a time, with Texas Instruments and Dell Computer. But name some recent innovators? Twitter? Facebook? Naw, those are California companies.

Nope, Texas can only poach, because they cannot innovate.
