Due to a job transfer for my spouse, our family will soon be moving from San Diego to the Central Coast area. After touring the greater area, we have decided to settle in Goleta or Santa Barbara. We're familiar with what to do in the area as far as activities and infrastructure but are looking for advice on best affordable neighborhoods for younger families, schools (Public elementary for now) and of course tips on where to find a rental (is Craigslist best or is there another local hidden site or property manager is best?). Budget for a rental is near $3500 a month and we need a 3-4 bedroom. Buying is not out of the question but our budget stops in the $700s. Any tips from knowledgeable locals would be fabulous!
