Santa Barbara, Laguna, La Jolla.

SB offers the most.

So hard to pick one! As an adult it has to go to Carpinteria. From childhood I'd say Dana Point/Doheny, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach.

Have you been to where the Montage hotel is? It's pretty. There are some nice walking paths, an artsy downtown, a small beach, some beautiful seaside cliffs, and small waves. I do agree Santa Barbara is prettier though because it's like a central coast beach with a long strand of white shining sand and has warmer water than where I'm at.

Pismo Beach and Huntington Beach are hands down California's finest beaches - They both are easily the best beaches in West Coast, USA.

Don't believe everything you read online, especially on obscure websites.

I live in SB but am down in Orange Country (Newport, Hungtington, Laguna, Dana Point) exploring the area and doing a little work when I can fit it in (lol) and I really really like this area a lot. I'm 35 so SB is still a little small/isolated and sleepy/old feeling to me. I really like the energy down here and the abundance of things to do The beaches are absolutely incredible with the beautiful color of water and big waves crashing onto the rocks and all the landscaping is so well done it looks like a mini hawaii with all the variations of plants and plams and flowers. SB in comparison, is much drier looking and has much more of a stark beauty. I know some people say SB is the last of the southern california cities but I think 1st of the central coast cities is much more accurate as it's nothing like southern california. Both are great, it just depends what you like. Santa Barbara has a more "special" feel to it for sure.

I like the vibe & layout in Ventura & San Diego & the scenery in Santa Barbara is gorgeous but a little to rich of an area to live for me. I wouldn't consider Pismo a "city" but I love that little spot.
