Wow. How long does it take someone to move?

I like everything about California EXCEPT the price of housing. It's frustrating really. I work full-time and work hard, I'm educated, I contribute to society, yet I can't afford a damn place to live. Yes, I can rent, but I feel as if I'll never be able to own. I'm fine with owning a condo/apartment even, but even those are outrageous in Orange County, it's like damn... I feel like I'm stuck renting forever. uggh. Essentially throwing away almost $2k a month on rent when of course, I'd rather spend that $2k a month on a mortgage.

I love California and I’m on the conservative side of the center politically.
I cringe when cry babies call it by a lesser name.
Most cry babies would find fault wherever they were.

I am transitioning out but it’s not due to money, politics or hate for California.

I also love the PNW.
It is calling me and I just hate leaving our place up there.
Each time the wife and I leave our northern driveway to go back to California we think we are going the wrong way.

We will keep our real estate here so our kids (and us) have options in the future.

No hate or ill feelings here.
Just doing me.

My fiance and I - and our pets - are moving to 'Kollyfornia'. We can't wait to get there and live the dream. Don't whine to us about taxes, high COL, illegals, gangs, etc. Those issues are everywhere, even in IA, TN, and MT. But jobs writing for TV networks are not.

Please don't wake up 3-year-old threads, and then not bother answering the question(s) in the first post.

Sigh... I feel ya. OC as well, and we just got a lease notice. Because of our "good standing" they're only raising it 150 bucks.
