If I am grocery shopping, I remember 100% of the time. If I am not out specifically to shop, but happen by a store that may have something I need, it's more problematic. In those cases, I usually only buy one item, and just carry it.

Almost every time I go shopping. Have a pile of those ten cent ones now that never seem to make their way back to the car. Such a P.I.T.A. and a ripoff. Stupid voters. If they'd wanted to ban plastic to protect the environment, fine. Bring back the free paper ones we used for decades prior to the advent of plastic bags. They worked fine, are from a renewable resource and are biodegradable. This whole thing was a scam by retailers to pocket a nickle or dime every other transaction (yes, they do get to keep the money).

And then after that you can use the same bags for your groceries.

I was in California last weekend and had forgotten about the plastic bag ban until I went to a Ralph's to buy a wedding card. I laughed because I happened to wrap a pair of shoes in the thin, free plastic bags from my local grocery store (not in California) and thought about how I had something 'illegal' back in my hotel room.

This is me. I do keep a couple of the old type of plastic bags in my trunk. If I think there's a possibility I might buy something requiring a bag, I'll stuff one in my purse.

Ours live in the trunks of our cars. When we unload, they go right back to the trunk. Once you get in the habit of taking them in with you grocery shopping, you kind of stop thinking about having to remember them.

I remember most of the time, but when I don't, I just use the bags from the fresh produce area.

Not mine but handouts to the homeless.

It really takes time getting used to in either bringing those reusable plastic bags with you back to the store or to just buy more when your done shopping if you do forget to bring them, but these new plastic bags are really heavy duty which I really like.

I buy the EEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeevil thin plastic film bags that the greenies love to hate, in lots of 10,000. Every time I go to the store I bring a few hundred of them, not only for myself but to hand out to fellow shoppers. I might even sell them to the stores themselves for the right price. But I would never sell them to fellow downtrodden shoppers who are being punished for nothing they have done wrong but instead due to a few idiots who are known to buy a 40 or two then throw it plus their junk food wrappers out the window in the same bag they bought them in while driving down the road.
