Cox, who didn't vote for Donald Trump for president, said at a debate Tuesday night that he regrets that decision. "I wasn't sure he's a conservative. I am now, he's a conservative."

Cox also expressed strong support for Trump's campaign promise of building a U.S.-Mexico border wall, saying "this is about criminals and human trafficking, drugs, guns. So yes, a wall is important."

The Washington Times - Wednesday, June 6, 2018

California’s GOP candidate for governor John Cox is embracing President Trump’s agenda and support, declaring Wednesday, I’m with him.” https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...hn-cox-backs-/

"Cox’s extreme stance on abortion (no exceptions for rape or incest) puts him at odds with the 70% of California voters who support the state’s current policies." https://sandiegofreepress.org/2018/0.../#.W9vWS62ZNE4
That is a big reason to vote for Cox.

Every country on earth has immigration policies that protect their borders. Try entering Australia, Japan, or Russia illegally and see how they deal with you. It's about time we have a US President who tries to enforce our immigration laws. Protecting our borders is one of the President's duties.

Any governor should do the same.

Yes . It’s strange that so many on the left seem to think it’s a controversial idea that Trump came up with to have a border wall because “he doesn’t like brown people “ or whatever ridiculous variation .

Fact is we need some standard for vetting people . Unskilled and uneducated illegal aliens also cost California billions alone . It’s never spoken of in the media or elsewhere hardly .

We have no obligation to take care of other nation’s citizens and we can’t afford it .

Despite the lies of the media and leftist politicians most Americans support a border wall and an end to chain migration and lottery system for immigration . We’ve just had bad and weak laws for way too long .

——
According to a Harvard University-Harris Poll, a majority of Americans actually agree with not only one but all of Trump's immigration proposals.

A stunning 65 percent of Americans support a DACA deal that ends chain migration, eliminates the random visa lottery and secures the border with a wall. Only 35 percent of Americans did not agree.

Nearly 70 percent of Americans oppose the visa lottery which allows immigrants to be picked at random for entry into the country.

Funny how you didn't mention this poll regarding support for "the wall"

June 2018: According to a Gallup Poll released Wednesday, 57 percent of respondents said they either “oppose” or “strongly oppose” increasing border wall construction. Forty-one percent said they either “favor” or “strongly favor” building more fencing.

What’s “freaking hilarious is, as I said before, you, and others, knowing Chump is a pathological liar, choose to believe anything he says. You believe a liar.

My contribution of substance is to answer your own earlier question:

... by clarifying how self-contradictory it is to - believe liars.

And, again, love Chump supporters using attacks such as “scraping the bottom of the barrel”. Lady, you can’t get deeper in barrel sludge than your choice for POTUS.

Now, that said, you want to see a gubernatorial candidate make it to Sacramenro, who supports the pettiest, most personally vindictive politician in American history - a POTUS who hates California and has openly stated his intentions to attack the state and its majority electorate.

Kapha, keep those one-liners coming about “substance” and “scraping the bottom of the barrel”!

My post was a reply to a poster saying that Cox was not a lackey of Trump's, when in fact, Cox is pandering to Trump's cult and supports positions such as an extreme anti-choice stance that is anti-woman.

As for strong borders/illegal immigration, etc., I do not support illegal immigration, but the wall is stupid.

If, however, Trump wants a wall, then either he should pay for it himself, or he should keep his stupid campaign promise and insist that Mexico pay for it.

How is it that y'all let Trump off the hook for breaking his promise?

So, you don't think women should have the right to choose to terminate a pregnancy that was the result of rape/incest?

How would John Cox as governor of California restrict abortion rights? Is this in the governor's power with a 2/3 Dem leg? No.

Even if I were voting Republican, the fact that Cox has never held an elected office is enough to concern anyone. Experience in private industry does not necessarily translate well to government. (As we know from....oh, well; never mind.)

Californians were smart enough to realize this when Carly Fiorina lost the Senate race in 2010 to Boxer.
