This is a sad thing, to be happening when the state gets this #1 position.

Cool California ranked LEAST educated state in the country according to latest CENSUS data

https://ktrh.iheart.com/featured/the...in-the-nation/

Quote:
According to new data from the Census Bureau, California is the least educated state in America. It ranked number one for the percentage of those over 25-years-old who have never completed ninth grade. Plus, it ranked 50th for the percentage who have graduated from high school.

California also ranks #1 for number of people with advanced degrees... Migrant farmworkers in our massive agriculture sector bring the percentages down (there are over 500,000 of them). Stop posting FoxNews propaganda. All of the below states have a lower high school graduation rate than California (82%):

Minnesota 81.9%
Hawaii 81.6%
Ohio 80.7%
South Carolina 80.3%
Michigan 79.8%
Wyoming 79.3%
New York 79.2%
Idaho 78.9%
Georgia 78.8%
Washington 78.2%
Florida 77.9%
Louisiana 77.5%
Arizona 77.4%
Colorado 77.3%
Alaska 75.6%
Mississippi 75.4%
Oregon 73.8%
Nevada 71.3%
New Mexico 68.6%

It is not FOX news propaganda. And in any case, assuming you are correct that we rank number 1 for advanced degrees, the two facts can co-exist and in fact given our demographics (and it is by no means just farmworkers that explains it all away), it shows we have an extreme society. Why is everyone missing the elephant in the room: IMMIGRATION, legal and illegal?

The averages are almost surely skewed due to the fact that the largest single demographic, with inflow as well, also tends to be a culture that, with few exceptions, actively discourages and looks down on education and intellectual betterment and instead, emphasizes having babies upon babies upon babies as soon as 15.

When you take THAT into account, the stats make a lot more sense.

Like the headline is a news flash? Will be interesting to see people libsplain this one away.

If the survey were based solely on IQ I believe the results would be the same. Except it would be politicians who were responsible; not illegals.

Oh wait...

Your data is old. The Census Data is the most recent. California's education system is on a downward spiral.
