Newsom defends California economy reopening

Quote:
There’s a certain point where you have to recognize you can’t be in a permanent state where people are locked away for months and months and months on end,” Newsom said, warning of the broader public health impacts of seeing “lives and livelihoods completely destroyed.”

YOGO, PlusPlus, and Affinity Development Group moving all jobs from California to Nevada

Quote:
Thompson, founder and CEO of YOGO, an eco-friendly yoga mat company, had a hop in her voice as she talked about a big step forward for her company: moving to Northern Nevada.

YOGO, which is moving its headquarters and e-commerce operations from San Francisco to Sparks, is one of three companies that have recently staked a flag in region.

"I feel ecstatic to be relocating here,” Thompson told the NNBW in an interview June 10. “I feel like I’m sort of playing hooky from school or something like that; I really feel like I escaped. I absolutely love the Reno area.”

Marko Gargenta, founder and CEO of PlusPlus — a peer-learning platform for large tech firms like LinkedIn, SalesForce and Shopify — agrees.

Founded in San Francisco, PlusPlus is expanding to Reno with the aid of an investment from the Reno Seed Fund, the lead investor in an $860,000 seed round for the software company.

“I knew we needed to find a place that was scalable, and the Bay Area is not that,” Gargenta said.
People who have run small to mid-size businesses in California and wanted to become something more all felt the same way Mr. Gargenta.

This is not a California “job loss or business closure” ... so off topic. The company is not closing California operations, nor taking personnel out of California. It is expanding. Like successful companies everywhere like to do when they see new opportunities. It already has operations in Texas and Pennsylvania as well as California.

Seriously CR? You are suggesting this YOGO move makes a dent in anything California? It’s a handful of people. Of course they couldn’t compete for expensive SF space. Question is why did they ever start up there?

Here’s (from your link) how many people they will be hiring in Nevada instead of California:
Quote:
she has already hired six people for the YOGO team, which moved into a corporate office and a 2,000-square-foot warehouse space in Sparks.

The company plans to hire up to 40 people over the next few years, she added.
Roflmfao.

Right! ...If anything, the people of Nashville TN should be thanking California for the fact that a company prospered so well here that it COULD expand and provide Nashville these jobs.

These Red State disciples, though, never see things that way.

That’s one way to look at it.

That news is 2 weeks old. Scraping the bottom of the barrel to keep the narrative going, eh?
