When I was in Orlando a few years ago I recall more mosquitos and other pests than I had expected. But I wouldn't say it was all that much more than what I have in WI.

Bug problem, I would say so, at night for sure. Right on the ocean not as much. You need a screen house to sit out side at your pool at night from the end of march until the end of November, it is even worst on the west coast(luckily I live on the east). My friend lives abut 10 mile west of the ocean, and I literally had to run from her door to my car to try to not get bit in the summer, I lived maybe 5 miles from the ocean and it was not as bad.

I live directly on the Beach (12 floors up) in Ponce Inlet... I never have bug problems. Once in a blue moon a mosquito might show up on my balcony. However, if you live on a Lake; inland, example: Lake Okechobee (in July), then yea, bugs will be around. But most folks have screens anyway. Besides it's a proven medical fact that humdity heals ailments in the body like arthritus. Humidity is much better than dry heat -- proven medical fact!

Florida is the only state in the US that is 100% tropical, surrounded by water, almost an island!

No smog, no traffic, no attitude, no road rage, no snobs, no graffiti, no gangs, etc... etc...

For many years California was the place to be and Florida was always 2nd runner-up. But in due time, this will change.

Oh, and we have best fruit in the US, and by far the best Orange Juice in the world.
