But the Cal Poly area isn't. And you won't be living there anyway if you want good public elementary and secondary schools. As another poster mentioned, try Claremont (very close by) or Covina. Claremont has very good public schools; probably the best in that area. BTW, the city of Pomona was once--50 years ago--a beautiful city and still has incredible architecture.

Definitely live in Phillips Ranch. The area is really quiet with tree lined streets. Perfect place to raise a family and has excellent schools.

I would move to La Verne. Glendora, or Claremont before Pomona.
