Arnold Schwarzenegger used to be one of my favorite actors since his fame in Terminator. But ever since he became governor, he lost my respect completely. He should have stayed an actor.

Why do other Californians think of Arnold Strong as a governor?

I don't agree with everything he does and am sometimes disappointed in him but I still think he is way better than Gray Davis. At least he has the balls to go after that corrupt as hell Prison Guard Union unlike Davis. It's easy to blame the governor for all of CA ills but I think the legislature is to blame the most. They've done far more damage with their far left and far right BS than anything Arnie has done. The legislature is full of partisan blowhards who just appeal to their whack job party bases. Gerrymandering has screwed up this state and hopefully that will change with Prop 11, which Arnie was a big supporter of.

It could be worse IMO. If you think Arnold is bad now try to imagine this state being run by someone like Gavin Newsom, who would probably be even worse than Davis.

I like Arnold even though he turned out to be a bit less of a tough guy than we all thought he was. Agree with Sav858 the legislature is really the problem... Gavin Newsom... no thanks!

I still like him. I voted for him. I don't think everything is his fault. He has some good ideas but not everybody in government will go along with them. but our state is kinda screwed up right now. We'll get through it - we always do. I'm glad we don't still have Gray Davis - we'd REALLY be screwed up if that jerk were still in office!

They obviously like what he's done... he got reelected. Seems to me he hasn't done much to improve anything, but hey, not many politicians do I suppose.

I think he's doing what he can, but the way the system is set up his hands are tied. I like him. California is in big trouble, but I think its from years and years of mismanagement, not just from the Schwartzenegger administration. The whole government thing needs to be revamped. That is evident from the crazy budget thing we just went through and will go through again.

I think he's done a good job with what he's been handed. Hard to imagine anyone doing better, and that's really what matters.

I didn't vote for him, but I don't dislike him either. The bigger problems, as has already been mentioned, are the worthless state legislature and the gerrymandered districts.

If you gauge him on the platform he ran on, then he is a complete failure.
