Due to medical reasons, looking to move to some place where the weather stays pretty much the same all year around. I lived in Colorado and loved it but the extreme temp changes would cause me problems. The cold really made me sick. So now I live in Dallas Texas, even though I feel better here the heat is just to extreme for me and it's really not a nice place to live overall. So some people suggested California. I am not even sure I could afford to live there and I also run into people everyday who moved out of California for many reasons.
Just looking for somewhere pretty with nice weather and good for kids.

OK, how about the central coast such San Luis Obispo or Santa Maria or someplace in that area. Warm, low humidity summers (80's & 90's) and cool winters (40's to the 50's). The beach isn't too far away. Probably lower housing costs than around San Diego, LA or San Francisco.
And you're right! More native born Americans are leaving CA than coming in - high taxes, regulations, high cost of living, dysfunctual government and schools - the usual suspects.

Is temperature the main component of weather that you wish to have the least variability? What about wind, humidity, cloud cover, and instances of fog?
What about a job? What line of work are you in?
Kids? Ages?
Spouse? What work does spouse do? Where?
What is your housing budget?
The ocean has a moderating influence on the climate. Nearer to the coast usually means less extremes in temperature.

Monterey or the Salinas Valley is pretty constant, temperature wise. A lot homes, and even older motels, don't have airconditioning so that oughta tell you something about the temps.

At one time Vista,CA had the best weather in the US. The article I read was back in the early 90's. Average high temps run between 68 to 82. Vista is just east of Carlsbad/Oceanside in the north end of San Diego County. Median home prices are down from 500K+ to about 260k, so it might be an opportune time to move. Good luck.

I live in Oxnard and work in Ventura and the temperature ranges from the mid 50's to the high 80's during the year, with most of the time the temperature is in the high 60's. You can check on the main City Data site and check average temps for cities that you are considering.

Buy a lot and put a double-triple-wide manufactured home on it. The dealer will take care of all foundation, permits, etc. It could all be done in the 200K range, including lot 50-75k lot, 100k home, 25k foundation, permits.
