With that being said, what do you think makes California the state that it is? (No negative comments please)

Do you think its the diversity, beautiful weather, or laid back liberal culture?

Are there any experinces that you had when moving to California that took you aback about their culture??

Any input is great.
California haters not welcome.
I have to agree because (as a native Californian) when I travel to some other states, it is like being in a foreign country, only they speak English and have the same flag. The US is a big place. Even Nevada feels weird. Texas though is alot like California. Kansas, forget it, feels like Pluto. Utah=lots of blondes and Mormons. South Florida is like CA in the 50's and 60's. North FLA=foreign country.

California created McDonald's and that simple export has changed the food landscape of our entire country. Like it or not, that's influence, and Calfornia has it in spades.

I got plenty of money in the bank and zero debt. That's why I say that moving to California has been very successful for me. Of course, I moved here more than 30 years ago.

Omaha Nebraska gave birth to Warren Buffet who changed the landscape of global business. Like it or not, that's influence, and it can come from anywhere in the world.

The 'majority' of the Californian's you referenced don't .... The majority of those 12.4% of Californian's that are unemployed don't .. So, when the gravy train stops, it will domino .. When reality hits, you realize, the sun/good weather don't pay the bills. At that point, having less taxes/lower cost of living all those years in which your average Californian was just struggling to afford to living here, becomes 'i wish i would of'... For now, that realization and push to better value things, is being delayed by bailouts/handouts which will soon be coming to an end. Thus, I see a future stagnation in CA, and even a retraction as resources/people/business reallocate around the U.S in preparation for the re-shoring of jobs.
