Marx was a brilliant sociologist too, even if the concept of Communism doesn’t work in and of itself, we owe a lot to the influence of his theories to the labour movement which has granted us many of the freedoms we take for granted today.

Canada’s religious makeup is much more similar to Europe than the United States. Most of our Protestant population has historically been Presbyterian, Anglican, Methodist, Lutheran, etc, whereas in the US there is a greater influence of Evangelical churches. The Catholic Church has always had a big influence, but is often misunderstood by nonreligious people as having the same views on things like the death penalty, evolution or Middle Eastern geopolitics as most Evangelical Churches when this is actually not the case
