Has anyone been keeping up with all the recalls on cat food and cat treats? Dogs too are getting sick and are dying. Nothing seems to be changing, nothing getting better and veterinarians remain silent. This is really some scary information.

Thank you for this post. I had not heard about problems with Wiskas Temptation treats before. I give my cats theses treats on occasion & and now I'm concerned. I haven't seen any of the bad effects that were mentioned in the link, but I'm not taking any chances. No more Temptations treats.

From what I'm seeing online almost all these treats have ingredients from China, especially the meat. China has almost no quality control and there is no accountability. AVOID all cat treats from the pet stores. It's safer to make your own. Anything edible from China should be avoided.
Well, our cat likes the occasional Temptation treat, but now we'll be sticking with his "jackpot treats": the freeze-dried ones that have no additives. He loves those, and (of course) they're more expensive...
There are so many recalls I think it's becoming "old news" now.
So many recalls are because of salmonella and other bacteria that affect humans but really do not have much impact on cats (they eat out of dumpsters, remember).
However, when you get into a chemical issue like this where some kind of additive is causing kidney issues, then we need to take it very seriously. I have thrown away the Temptations at my house and I am going to be finding another kitty treat. Jimmy isn't happy that he didn't get his treats this morning but he'll get over it.
