I don't think that there is any thing wrong with the food, its just that cats are picky. I have twelve, old
cats that are never going to be adopted. (I work with a no-kill shelter)FIV, miserable dispositions, blind etc. I can put down food, half will take one mouthful and walk away. The rest will gobble it up. Most don't care for shrimp or crab, a small percentage love it. Please don't thow out any cat food your cats dislike, you local shelter would love to receive them. Keep you receipts, store the food until you have $10 worth and they'll even give you a tax receipt. Maybe the amount is different in the States

Off topic, but I envy you Ryath for doing what you're doing. The animal control shelter in my area has come 180 degrees, and although it's very close to being a no-kill, there just are not enough foster homes, rescue groups, and other no-kill shelters available for all the cats and dogs who end up there. Animal control tries very hard to place "unadoptables".
I would love to become a forever home for "unadoptables" (cats with FIV, pit bulls, etc.), but it's not meant to be. However, my contribution is donating the foods that my cats just won't eat. I do think that Fancy Feast can be inconsistently manufactured which is why my cats simultaneously turn up their noses at it, but that's not to say that there's something wrong with it and it should be tossed in the garbage. So, rest assured, I don't.
My cats are vomiting up FF. Its NOT hairballs, its the digested food, comes up with a pink color, like the color of the food, so its probably food dye. I'm starting to think of making my own cat food, anyone have any good recipes?
