It is the same with people all over the world.
Some are loved, while others are hated.
Let's just let this lady rest in peace.
For those of you who cherished her, you obviously will remember her for the rest of your lives, and for those that didn't care for her, she is gone, and your memory of her will soon vanish as well.
Regardless of what your feelings are, or were for Ms. Houston, she was a living, breathing icon in the industry, and perhaps her untimely death will send a clear message to all, and that being, life is precious, and extremely fragile, and perhaps we should all takes steps in our own lives to make the best of our remaining time on earth.
I have to admit, I didn't much care for her music, and can't say much about her as a person, for I knew nothing about her, only what I saw in the media.
She has left, and for some the reality of that is difficult to grasp, and only time will heal that void.
If any post are going to follow this one, let it be in celebration of her life, and what she contributed along the way.
Bob.

Great post! So amazing to watch some sit back in their high and mighty chairs to judge and rank on others.

I remember I was flipping through the channels and I saw this come up on the screen. I thought it was a joke or something. Still can't believe it.

If people haven't yet learned that drugs are bad and can kill you by seeing what happened to:

- Janis Joplin
- Jimi Hendrix
- Jim Morrison
- Elvis
- John Belushi
- Amy Winehouse
- River Phoenix
- Anna Nicole Smith
- Heath Ledger
- Michael Jackson

Then they certainly are not going to suddenly get the message from the death of Whitney Houston.

Don't you understand. It can't happen to them. They're celebrities!

Default very sad...

First of all.... "NONE" of us know what happens. People like to jump to conclusions.

Whitney could very well of had a fatal heart attack in the tub.
She had diabetes a very long time.
If anyone knows anything about Diabetes and all the side effects you can have, just by having the disease. Heart disease is just one side effect.
I know this for a fact...I live it every day for the past 41 years. Diabetes can hurt you in so many ways.
I had no clue all those years ago when I was young I had a heart attack. Maybe Whitney didn't see a heart specialist & have testing every year like she should have.
Maybe all the drugs she did hurt her heart. None of us know.

In my mind I hope she was clean & stopped doing the drugs, but it doesn't make any difference she is gone.
She didn't sing my kind of music...but she did have a beautiful voice all those years ago.

The news media will say anything... they don't know anymore then we do. All they care about is the drama & $$$ of course. Selling news.

I hope Christina doesn't hear about all these things people are saying...cause none of them knew her Mom.

Hope Whitney RIP & Christina has a good HONEST adult figure to help her thru life & that she stays off drugs.

Totally creepy!! People are genuinely morbid!

Sadly here is Whitney's death certificate-

Scary how it's already online for everyone's dated with today's date. She will be buried in Westfield, NJ.. It's a very pretty town, very quaint. Can you imagine all the gawkers that will be there after the funeral is over? What a shame. If she only got help for her addictions..RIP Whitney!

Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys singer) sister died last month or earlier this month of prescription drug abuse...and the list you put up above will grow and grow and then we have the athletes that die "all of sudden" usually of other illegal drugs but what will be hidden behind closed doors not to ruin their so called great achievements like Flo Griffith Joyner....
