your opinion, though Julliard and NYU didn't think so apparently (she went to two of the top music/performance arts schools in the nation). if you don't like her, fine, but regardless of what you think, she's got talent

I just checked out Lady Gaga on Wiki (I'm aware it's not always reliable). Everything I could find indicates Lady Gaga writes most of her own music. She has collaborated with other writers on occasion. I'm not impressed with her stage presence or antics, but she does have a really good voice. I like some of her music. She wrote "Fever" for Adam Lambert which is my favorite dance tune one the album. IMHO - trash is in the eye of the beholder.
Clip from Wiki:
At age 11, she was set to join Juilliard School in Manhattan,[8] but instead attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, a private Roman Catholic school.[9] Playing piano by ear from the age of 4, she went on to write her first piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mike nights by age 14.[10] At age 17, she gained early admission to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. There, she studied music and improved her songwriting skills by composing essays and analytical papers focusing on topics such as art, religion and socio-political order.[10][11] She later withdrew from the school to focus on her musical career
I thought she looked strange so I never gave her a chance, for something to do last night I checked out some of her music, and I gotta say it is remarkably appealing. I just can't stop listening to "Bad Romance"!

Bad Romance has been stuck in my head for weeks. Ra ra ah ah ah roma roma ma
I really like Lady Gaga. I was impressed with her appearance on Oprah too. I'll admit that the little bird movements during the Bad Romance video and performances creep me out a little, but I think she's a genuine artist. She designs her costumes and even makes a lot of them herself.
