Maybe someone could babysit me, just for an example, and look on eBay and give me an example of something that would do for less than $100, if there is such a thing. Then I'd know what kind of phone to look for.

Thanks so much everyone.
You get everything T-mobile offers, the only issue I'm having is that unless you get a T-mobile branded phone you don't get wi-fi calling. And not all T-mobile phones have that capability so you would need to do the research to find out which one does.

@ndcairngorm For $100 it may be hard to find many 4G capable phones that are new, you might wish to look for ones like the ones below that I found for you doing a quick search, just make sure they say T-Mobile on the box or phone or both in order to use the wifi calling feature. I also would recommend at least 16GB phones

You also may be able to buy a new Metro PCS phone from places like the one below for $99 and it should work on T-Mobile since they use their network and are owned by T-Mobile but no guarantee on the wifi calling app working on T-Mobile, it probably will but I am not sure.

Right! Thanks! That gives me a good idea what to look for (didn't realize some phones actually said what kind of plan they were fixed up for).
