IOP house without hesitation... commute is the only factor you left out, working or going to school and where?
there's no personality or buffer in these popup cookie cutter neighborhoods, might as well live in an apt on land they bulldozed down IMO... but I prefer older brick houses in long established neighborhoods with real trees from the old growth, which is why I bought the house I'm in...
depends on your preference I suppose, but cookie cutter homes don't resemble the long established historic area you're living in in the least IMHO... and watch what the next good storm does to all those vinyl homes...
Commute--for work, husband is self-employed, so that doesn't factor.
School is a little bit of a drive but within what we're willing to do. We could have gotten a house close to school in one of those types of neighborhoods and couldn't stand how far we'd be from the beach....
How bad is traffic out of IOP in the morning?
Are there fewer mosquitoes/snakes/gators on IOP than other places? (Hoping...)
its worth it...have you looked at Daniel Island or Mt Pleasant or Johns Island?
