Can anyone recommend a good nursery with a large selection of plants and trees? I'm going to be doing the bulk of my landscaping myself and haven't found much of a selection around Mount Pleasant. I'm willing to drive a bit to get good prices and selection.

Thanks!

Hyam's blows me away with their selection - they're not cheap, but they have amazing variety, and all of their staff is very knowledgeable.

I used to like Abide-a-While, but their selection has really gotten limited the last year or so.

I've bought some pretty good shrubs at Lowe's, with a lot of looking to make sure it's healthy. I actually lucked into some Encore azaleas last week on the last day they were marked down to $5.98!! Score!!

Hidden Ponds up 17 almost in Awandaw has an okay selection.

There's a pretty good one between Monck's Corner and Goose Creek. It's huge. I know that's kind of a drive for you though, and I don't remember the name of it because I haven't been up there in awhile.

Hyam's is the best.
Brownswood is a bit farther (on John's Island) but worth a look as well.

Not sure how big your project is, but Stack's nursery on Dorchester road in Summerville has a good selection and is run by very nice, knowledgeable folks. Maybe give them a call before driving out from Mt. Pleasant to make sure they have the volume and variety, but I know some folks from West Ashley that have used them quite a bit.

The Hyam's staff is very knowledgeable and helpful about helping you get the plants/shrubs that will do best in your yard.
