Say anything to get into office, then do what you believe is right. That's politics in a nutshell.

Unfortunately for all, it's a losing battle that will just delay the inevitable, making matters worse when it finally gets implemented. The cruise port won't go anywhere else, the terminal will (and needs to) be revamped into at grade development, and delaying it will only cause problems with traffic and development like everything else that's delayed down the line.

They can say they didn't study it adequately, but even if they win that argument, they will just turn around and do another study, ultimately putting it in anyway.

And I'm sorry, but their Union Pier plan is gorgeous.

Will the cruise ship terminal tie in at all to that huge facade that's propped up just off East Bay Street? Somebody has to be saving that thing for a reason.

From what I've read, there was plans on integrating it. Note the developments around where it is in the picture.

We cruise out of Port Canaveral often and their setup is really well done. This idea of capping cruise ship visits and sizes is just another way to kill the cruise industry here. The ships are getting bigger, not smaller.

The terminal needs more than one parking deck and a better traffic flow for cabs and buses picking up and dropping off.

Oh yeah thanks, Insull, I forgot. Another reason im not a fan. Again, tourism is one of our big hitters, our Lebron James, our bacon of the breakfast, and he wants to cap it?? Again to please the downtown crowd?

Makes no sense to me. Why dont we cap the airport too? No flights from 8am to 8pm. Our hotels are booming, cruises are booming, airport is booming, and you want to slow that tourism down?

We should be happy people want to shell out so much money to come see us. Lets provide them with the resources necessary.

I think people just want to be able to walk to their favorite restaurants without Ma and Pa Missoura getting in the way of their seersucker stroll, even though 80% of those restaurants wouldn't exist without tourists.
