I thought it was strange that everywhere around us is an evacuation zone but not Ladson. There aren't any hotel rooms left so guess we are staying. We aren't too far from Spencer Creek, just off of the other side of Ladson road.

I don't believe so. The area I live in is not shown in the video.

Stay safe Charleston people! I have a few friends that live there and they are staying put, I understand people not wanting to leave.

Honestly, at this point, my only concern is a loss of power and how fast it will be restored. I'm 32 miles inland as the crow flies.

My house is all-electric, including a water well. I have a gas generator, but filling it every 6 hours for multiple days is not a solution for me.

We have no generator....we are six miles as the crow files from the coast but sit high enough that even the floods last year didn't even come close.

We started boarding our windows...and gave up -- second floor not so good. I think we will be fine.

Too late to get one now for you but we love having a generator and it's a great thing to have when you need it. Our 'hurricane kit' consists of a generator, small window A/C, and a chainsaw - we've had these things for years and they've been worth it when needed. The generator is big enough to run the a/c, the frig, a light, and one other appliance. It makes dealing without power for a few days a whole lot more comfortable.

We've only been here for 9 years and have needed none of the above. We are happy We get miserable..we have two cars gassed up and ready to take us to power. Our route is very convenient....

Buying a generator is the best guarantee you'll never need one.
