I am looking for temporary furnished housing for about a month or so until I get a couple of paychecks and my husband can come down and join us. I need something close to downtown Charleston and a good day care for my school age children. I can pay about $1000 but not all at once, would like to break it up during my stay.

Look into apartment homes that offer furnished units. I know a place over in North Charleston has furnished apartments available now for the $800 range. I think you're going to have a very hard time #1 finding a place close to downtown for that budget and #2 finding a place that'll let you break up the payment. Good luck though.

A friend of mine just found a place near 526 and Ashley river road. It was a furnished month to month rental for $900. He did not tell me the name of the place, but I did a google map search, and I believe it's called Moss Creek Apartments‎ (843) 571-7016. He said it's gated and has large apartments. If that is not the place, it's located very close to it by the directions he gave me. I can confirm the name of the place with him tomorrow. Good luck.
