I did 2 house-hunting trips last winter. I stayed at the Marriott in South Park in November and then in the Hampton Inn at Phillips Place in January and I far preferred the Hampton Inn. Here's why - #1 - Hampton is much newer/fresher/cleaner - In my opinion, the Marriott needs to be updated and refreshed - it feels very 1990-ish, #2 - Free continental breakfast in the morning, coffee and tea the rest of the day & fresh baked cookies in the afternoon, #3 - The staff was more friendly and helpful, #4 - Hampton is just steps away from great restaurants and shopping. In the winter you'd want to drive to anything within walking distance of the Marriott. Can't compare to the Ritz since I've never been.
