My wife and I stopped by Creoles Louisiana Kitchen in Ballantyne on Saturday. This spot is about the worst spot for a restaurant you can have and it has proven to be terrible with the handful of restaurants that have closed over the years there. I am afraid that it will not be long for Creoles either. On Saturday night there was 3 tables seated and 3 people at the bar. When the food came out it was absolutely terrible. I got basic Jambalaya and cannot explain how terrible it was. When I expressed this to my waitress there was no response just a stare. My wife wanted the bread pudding which was one of the main reasons for going. Our waitress brought us cold bread pudding (usually warm with a warm sauce over it) and said the oven had blown up on Friday and that we could take it home and heat it up. I looked at my wife in total dismay as she told the waitress that would be fine. The Waitress then took the bread pudding and put it in a travel container. She brought it back along with the check for 52.00. Full price for take it home dessert and the awful Jambalaya. Needless to say we will not be back.
That place is disgusting....i would not send my worst enemy to eat there...really that whole shopping center has terriable food.. Last time i was in that pizza place in there i saw a roach crawl across our table......
I actaully did not say to comp the meal but was hopeing when she took a basically full plate away and I told here how terrible it was she would automatically comp. My wife is very non confrontational and would rather pay and never come back. She is a chalk it up to live and learn kind of person.
The whole shopping center does not have horrible food. Love me some Zapatas. Big Daddy's is also good but I would like to send my kids to college someday so I can't afford to go there.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I was really looking forward to some alligator chili. Not sure I want to go now.
We also went there 5-6 months ago, and while we didn't send the food back, it was not good at all and I am totally surprised it is still open. Place was dead, food stunk and the prices were high.
South Charlotte Weekly did a review a few weeks ago and gave it the same review...not good.
And for "peopleschamp", please just ignore them. The own/work/invest in another pizza shop in South Charlotte and just come on here to bash every restaurant.
Opposite end of town, but you might find it worth the drive to hit Boudreaux's! (http://www.boudreauxs.com/Charlotte/ - broken link) I've never had a disappointing meal there.
Thanks CharlotteGal. I will give it a try. I do not mind driving for good food. Also Cajun Yard Dog in the Arboretum has always been good. I hit that for lunch sometimes.
Bs- Not sure if the yard dog has gator Chilli but check it out if you have a chance.
