Certainly she must know nothing about Mecklenburg county taxes then. Anyone living in any other county surrounding Mecklenburg has it far better. I'd rather see the school tax as a separate item rather than have it buried in the county property tax where endless games, such as those we just went through, are played by politicians.

Yep...DS graduated in 2010, but we still pay the school tax. If where you are looking for houses are in the Mooresville Graded School Dist (28115), you will pay an extra tax. I don't have the exact amount in front of me, but you can get that info from the town. MGSD is excellent & the kids grades 3 & up get a lap top.

I looked up the school tax rate for Mooresville graded school district and it's 14 cents.
Iredell county tax rate is 48 cents and Mooresville city 58 cents.
