Well obviously with only a 2 degree variation in the month of July...summers in Charlotte and South Jersey are not all that different..but not worse.. yea worse TODAY...but as late August approaches and you still bake here..those area start to cool down and THAT is the difference...not mid summer heat waves..

We had a nice soaking over here last night. Yay!!! And right after we cut finally cut our grass (it looked perfectly fine in the front yard but had super long sections in the back. Things were hiding in the grass ).

I don't like either temperature extreme, but I'll still take the heat extreme over the cold extreme. The cold lasts many months more and is very unbearable in my opinion.

By the way, the rest of the country is pretty darned hot too right now.

I usually talk to her in the evening, but was on the phone with her one afternoon & her outdoor thermometer was reading 106, in the shade. (My brother-in-law tested the thing inside, before putting it outside.) Most years the heat breaks for a few days in mid August, then ramps back up until mid to late September. Really, I did my research carefully before moving here. I tracked summer temps for 2 summers before moving.

I went for my usual walk this morning around 6:30 and thought it was rather comfortable.

The humidity/dewpoint numbers are going to be alot lower than the last few weeks, so even though its going to be mid 90's+ its going to feel much more comfortable.

Last night after the storm came through and this morning was right pleasant. I can not ever remember in all these years the heat being this oppressive and lasting.

I hear you south...well, Connecticut is a much different world than South Jersey is .. I think we started from different places.

I guess maybe everyone is different but for me I notice a HUGE change in how much comfortable it feels plus I can breath much easier.
