To answer the OP: One good way to find friends you will click with, is to watch and see which people correct others' spelling and grammar, and then stay away from those people if it comes off as being abrasive.
Go into the Epi Center and yell out "EVERYBODY PUT YOUR HATS ON BACKWARDS".
you'll have a dozen "friends" in a minute.
